Stephen McAinsh
Founder & Agile Coach
Stephen is an agile coach with over 20 years’ industry experience in process improvement, change management and agile transformations.
He started his career as a software engineer in 1980s with Hewlett-Packard who were pioneering new manufacturing techniques, many of which we term as agile or lean today. He then moved into process improvement and change management, working with organisations across Europe, Japan and US. Since 2008 his focus has been on agile transformations working at all levels including executives, senior management and development teams.
Liam McHugh
Agile Coach
Liam helps people and organisations build great products for their customers and enterprise. As an Agile Lead, coach, and educator he uses modern approaches to solve complex problems and create thriving businesses.
By defining the way to work and what to work on Liam has delivered successful transformation and organisational outcomes across, FMCG, Retail, Financial Services, Pharma & Public sector.
Cristina Maireles
Marketing and Operations
Cristina has a business and communications background. Working for private and third sector, she built her career within marketing, graphic design, events and customer service.
Chris McDermott
Agile Coach
Chris is an independent Lean Agile Coach working with Calba. He founded the Lean Agile Scotland conference in 2011 and from 2012 to 2018 was also the organiser. He also founded the Lean Agile Glasgow Meetup group in 2012.
He caught the Agile bug in 2003 when, as a software engineer, he read Extreme Programming Explained. Since then he has helped organisations adopt agile ways of working across many different sectors and in contexts ranging from software development to business operations and senior leadership.
Vinnie Gill
Agile Coach
Vinnie puts people and culture first. She enjoys connecting with people and companies to find their purpose, walking alongside them in their organisational growth journey. Her passion is influencing change at the Enterprise level to help bring about wide-ranging agile organisational transformation.
She is deeply involved in the Agile community and volunteers her time with the Business Agility Institute, in addition to being a member of the International Consortium for Agile.
Vinnie has a special interest in educating and education being the tool that empowers people; she is an IC Agile Authorised Instructor.
Cameron Leask
Agile Coach
Cameron has almost 30 years of commercial & consulting experience across a broad range of industries. The depth of his experience as a coach, solutions architect & product owner means he has deep practical experience of working with business stakeholders and technical teams, particularly on software development, digital transformation, and process reengineering projects.
Cameron’s experience extends across a broad range of industries and with organisations of all sizes, including in-store and online retail, financial services, life sciences, publishing, manufacturing, and energy. Projects have addressed a wide range of business processes & controls in these sectors.
Comox
HR Manager
Comox is the owner of Shelley and Stephen and has been keeping the McAinsh household in line over the last year or so. Sometimes he wonders how they managed without him, the rest of the time all he thinks about is balls.
Geoff Johnson
Agile Coach / Product Owner
Geoff is a professional, delivery-focussed, expert Product Manager with extensive, user-centric, service design, software development and business change experience within commercial and government sectors, including NatureScot.
He has a proven track record of delivering quality product within agile development environments including, where necessary helping to improve the maturity of the agile approach within the business. His focus is helping organisations to identify and deliver value quickly.
Iain Tully
Agile Coach
Iain is a highly experienced and talented Agile Coach and Scrum Master with a wealth of knowledge of agile transformations. He has 20+ years of consultancy experience serving clients in Finance, Telecoms, Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Government.
Iain has brought a wealth of business experience to these assignments to support best practice and culture change. This has been achieved by an appropriate mix of hands-on examples, knowledge transfer, training sessions and one-to-one coaching at all levels.
Shelley McAinsh
Admin & Finance
Upon graduating from the University of British Columbia, Canada, in 1998, Shelley has been granted opportunities to work in a variety of roles over the years. A beginning in museum work eventually led her to accepting an English teaching post in Japan that lasted four years. Whilst in Japan, she also met future husband Stephen McAinsh! From Japan, she made a permanent move to Scotland.
Fast forward to present day and Shelley has found herself, somewhat unintentionally, of being an integral part of the Calba fabric. From administration to bookkeeping, and bits and pieces in between, she has worked quietly behind-the-scenes at Calba for several years.
Irwin Fletcher
IT Process Specialist
Irwin is an IT process specialist with 35 years’ experience across a diverse range of industries including Finance, Telecoms, Automotive, Health and Government. He has led process transformations with both SMEs and multi-nationals across Japan, USA and Europe.
Irwin is a seasoned trainer and communicator having presented at many international conferences and is experienced in developing on-line video training and webinars to support transformations.
Additionally, as a qualified NLP practitioner, hypnotherapist and executive coach, Irwin often brings these skills to bear in ensuring successful transformation projects.
Chris Downey
Agile Coach
Chris is an Agile coach with a passion for tackling complex system problems to help teams and organisations improve flow and deliver value. Originally from a software engineering background, he has 20+ year experience, having worked across telecoms, finance, travel, public sector, energy and more recently utilities.
For the last 8 years, Chris has specialised in helping non software teams get the benefit of Agile ways of working.

Duncan is a seasoned professional with a remarkable track record in the digital project environment spanning over two decades. With a wealth of experience spanning multiple sectors, he has seamlessly navigated roles on both the client and supplier fronts. For the past 12 years, working in the Agile landscape, assuming pivotal roles as an Agile Business Analyst, Scrum Master, and Product Owner, his commitment to shaping and delivering successful projects is evident in his extensive portfolio.

Paul has recently graduated with a website design and development degree. With less than a year of industry experience, he is a new but invaluable member to the team.
Ray Edgar
Agile Coach / Mentor
Ray is a passionate and energetic agile coach, mentor and driver of change. He has particular experience with large enterprise-level transformations and scaling agile.
With over 30 years’ industry experience, he is commercially aware and confident working at all levels in an organisation. He has over 10 years’ experience as an agile coach, recently with large financial and public sector organisations. He achieves successful outcomes through generating a shared understanding of local challenges and driving specific transformation improvements and mindset changes.
Suzanne Morrison
Agile Coach
Suzanne is an Agile Coach and Trainer, with over 20 years of experience in in a variety of sectors. These include travel, banking, telecommunications and internet publishing as well as startups, scale ups and large organisations.
Suzanne has a background in software development and initially spent 12 years as a software developer and technical lead, before moving on to become a Scrum master and then an Agile Coach. She also regularly works with non software teams, helping them to apply Lean and Agile principles and practices to their work.
Sathpal Singh
Agile Consultant
Sathpal operates at the intersection of Software Engineering and Agile, with a focus on people, culture and community development. Having started his career as a Software Engineer, he has moved from hands-on developer roles into management and strategic leadership and over the last 25 years has delivered a range of programs and products for international clients and brands.
Sath also has a number of global voluntary roles and pursuits, over and above his day job in engineering leadership in the financial services sector and is currently chair of the BCS Agile Methods specialist group and organiser at Future of Work Scotland.
Richard Gunson
Agile Coach
Richard’s background in the armed forces, education, therapeutic practice, and importantly, service development, brings a broad range of expertise and skills in both the public and private sectors with specialisation in developing and delivering the strategies and environment required for sustainable change.
Working with organisations of all sizes including global pharmaceuticals, national police forces, and government departments, Richard is able to help navigate the complex environments influencing decision making and develop appropriate interventions and support that will create agility with a focus on value for the user.

Valerie has been working with teams for over a decade, building collaborative spaces where individuals understand each other, their shared purpose and the context in which they operate. She works with software, operational and leadership teams, helping them clarify their strategy, find focus in complexity and ultimately accelerate their value delivery and impact.
Valerie has a compassionate approach, meeting individuals where they are, and - through expert facilitation and team coaching - brings everyone on a journey, together, towards brilliance.

Roberto has over 20 years experience working with large organisations helping to deliver large complex projects whilst at the same nurturing and developing their people. He is passionate about agile ways of working taking a people first approach. In his various roles he has helped coach, mentor and developed custom training in Agile ways of working.
Organisations he has worked with include BBC, DWP, HMRC and most recently Hargreaves Landsdown.
Ray Rozeman
Agile Coach / Scrum Master
Ray is an experienced agile practitioner (Agile coach, Scrum Master, Product Owner) who takes an inclusive and holistic approach to change and transformation drawing inspiration from domains such as psychology, systems thinking and complexity theory.
Ray enables teams and organizations to own the agile journey with a strong focus on getting things Done.
Matt Chave

Matt is a dedicated Agile Coach and Professional Scrum Master (PSM) who has worked on Agile projects and transformations for over 10 years.
Matt has been responsible for leading numerous cutting edge Agile initiatives involving Scrum, XP and Kanban for both small projects and large programmes. These initiatives have involved defining and deploying Scrum, Kanban, Agile Ways of Working, mentoring, facilitation and coaching in addition to hands-on management of high-grade Agile Coaches, Scrum Masters and highly skilled software development teams to achieve desired project outcomes and organisational / individual learning objectives.

Software Consultant
Seb has been a consultant, coach, designer, analyst and developer for over 40 years. He has been involved in the full development lifecycle with experience that ranges from architecture to support, from C to Visual Basic.
During his career, he has worked for companies large and small, and has extensive experience of failed projects. He's now an independent software consultant and trainer, promoting effective ways of working to the software development and testing community.

Robert Hall
Software Developer
Robert is a true full stack engineer having worked across all parts of software systems from using React, Angular and HapiJS on the frontend, to Java Spring, NodeJS and AWS Lambdas for the backend and also using Docker, Terraform and Jenkins for infrastructure and pipelines.
Robert is also a people person able to give demonstrations and tech talks to both technical and non-technical audiences to exchange ideas and promote knowledge sharing in teams. He has also mentored junior developers helping to grow teams and improve existing workflows.
