Calba Ltd Carbon Reduction Plan
19 June 2025
Commitment to achieving net zero
Calba Ltd is committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2030.
Baseline emissions footprint and current emissions reporting
This is the first time Calba Ltd has calculated our carbon footprint. Therefore our baseline year is the same as our current emissions for this first time calculation.
Baseline year: 2024 |

Calba is based in a serviced office. Therefore we cannot report on our gas and electricity usage. |

* In accordance with the GHG Protocol Technical Guidance for Scope 3, the Downstream Transportation and Distribution (Scope 3 – Category 9) covers emissions from the transportation and distribution of sold goods between a company’s operations and the end consumer, when not paid for by the reporting company. As Calba provides only intangible services and does not produce or sell any physical products, there are no downstream activities involving transportation, distribution, or warehousing of sold goods. This category is therefore considered not applicable, and emissions are reported as 0.
To note, all the travel required to deliver our services is included within the Business travel category.
Emissions reduction targets
In order to continue our progress to achieving net zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 0 tCO2e by 2030. This is a reduction of 100%.
Progress against these targets can be seen in the graph below:
Future carbon reduction initiatives
In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:
As part of our carbon reduction journey we will be improving the way we measure and report our carbon emissions. We will work with suppliers to reduce the carbon associated with our supply chain. We will review our procurement processes in order to better select lower carbon services, review our main procured services and look to reduce the carbon associated with them.
Office
Calba has a serviced office at Gyleview House, Edinburgh. At our office we strive to reduce waste wherever possible.
First and foremost, we aim to not produce any waste. For example, staff do not use paper or plastic cups and instead use re-usable glasses and water bottles provided by Calba.
Where not possible or practical to not produce waste, we aim to use recyclable materials, e.g., cardboard. Our serviced office provides facilities for recyclable materials.
We keep any printing to a minimum and utilise digital options wherever possible and practical.
We aim to be as energy efficient as possible by ensuring all lights and power sources are switched off when not in use to minimise our carbon footprint.
Travel
Calba has a bike-to-work scheme. Our office is situated within a 10-15 minute walk from Edinburgh Park train station, Edinburgh Park Central tram station, and numerous bus routes, allowing both staff and visitors to travel using public transport
We are proud to state that, currently, zero of our office staff regularly use vehicles to travel to/from work.
If travel is required, for example to visit a client, where practical, we travel by public ground transport (bus or train). Only if unavoidable would we travel by airline or use a vehicle. If a vehicle was used, we would try for it to be electric or hybrid.
Suppliers
Calba aims to procure from suppliers that demonstrate a similar ethos towards sustainability and the environment. For example, our website is hosted by Krystal, the world’s first web hosting provider to be a registered B-Corporation.
When necessary to procure physical materials or products, where practical Calba procures from locally sourced businesses. Doing this helps to minimise our carbon emissions as we do not rely on long courier journeys. We also aim to procure products that use recycled or reused materials, from Fair Trade suppliers, and ethically produced.
