Product & Delivery Practical

Course Description

This is a highly interactive session led by an experienced agile coach who will explain the core concepts of building a new product or service from inception through to delivery, with real-life simulations and practical exercises.

Participants will learn about product ownership, developing a product vision, how to create a product roadmap with techniques such as story mapping, prototyping and user testing. Throughout the course, particpants will develop a new product, immediately putting into practice the concepts explained. The session culminates with a presentation of the product to stakeholders.

During this learning journey, participants will collaborate in small teams to develop insights and skills, encompassing:

• Understanding methods for identifying user needs and validating them, along with crafting product visions to guide development
• Applying knowledge to create user story maps and collaborative workshops, as well as define measurable goals and metrics for product success
• Analysing risks, communication strategies and workflow management techniques to mitigate issues and ensure transparency with stakeholders
• Creating experiments for iterative improvements, fostering a culture of continuous learning and conducting self-assessments to devise personalised learning plans for ongoing development
• Remembering techniques for productive meetings and workshops, including strategies for team setup and effective communication

Who should attend

The course is for those interested in understanding how to own, devlop and deliver a product. There are no pre-requisites although a good foundation in agile ways of working is helpful, for example attending Calba’s 1-day Agile Practical.

Certification

All participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

Following the practical, some particpants have taken an exam for a globally recognised Product Owner certification. Further details available on request.
